The Learning Tree
The Learning Tree is a Parents Day Out program that operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am until 2pm. The program serves children from 6 weeks of age through 5 years of age (pre-kinders). The program follows the Warren County School Calendar and operates August - May. We offer a curriculum of learning letters, colors , numbers and especially learning through social play. Reporting Relationship:
The Director of the Learning Tree Program shall be responsible to the Lead Pastor and Lead Team of Christ Church and shall work closely with a Learning Tree Program Board. This board should be in place before the program begins to make decisions impacting the program. The board should be a part of any financial decisions regarding tuition or staff payment. The Director will coordinate and supervise the activities of the paid staff of the Learning Tree Programming.

General Requirements:
The Learning Tree Program Director shall exhibit a deep commitment to Christ, uphold the beliefs of Christ Church and work and act in a spirit of loyalty and cooperation with the staff and congregation of Christ Church.
Qualifications:
• Excellent Communication skills
• Experience in working with children or preschool program
• Highly organized, professional multi-task demeanor
• Upbeat, personable personality for dealing with people
Preferred Skills:
• Administrative and/or managerial experience
• Degree in Elementary Education and/or Early Childhood Development
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and leadership for staff to ensure the continued success of this outreach ministry. This includes the following but not limited to:
• Work closely with Christ Church Treasurer and TLT board to set tuition prices that will not only cover all employee costs and quarterly taxes but allow you to gain a slight cushion profit
• Hiring, evaluating, and training of staff
• Distribute and collect employee time sheets, verifying hours and turn into payroll company
• In case of termination of staff, will work with TLT Board to bring and resolve any complaints about staff or if need of termination will meet with them to conduct this action
• Provide staff with needed training to ensure the safety of the children in our care. This includes but is not limited to First Aid and CPR certification, tornado and fire drill procedures.
• Follow and make sure all MinistrySafe rules through the Christ Church are carried out. Also, make sure all staff has been through MinistrySafe Training as provided by the Children’s Minister and has a current background check on file.
• Receive and record program payments for all children registered with the program and turn over to Christ Church Treasurer
• Fill out weekly Ministry Covenant Form to be turned in to Lead Pastor and SPR Liaison.
• Attend Lead Team meetings as needed and/or requested.
• Meet regularly with TLT Board.
Provide oversight and leadership to TLT program families and children to ensure the success of this outreach ministry. This includes the following but not limited to:
• Oversee recruitment of potential clients by answering phone calls, emails, and giving tours of our facility and make clients feel at home.
• Producing a yearly handbook of rules and regulations and registration information and distribute these to families at the appropriate time through the year.
• Advertise as necessary over different social networks to fill vacancies in our program whether student or worker
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with families, both personal and paperwork including letters, emails and other appropriate methods of communication
• Maintain accurate information on all children registered with the program
• Collect, maintain and turn in payment records to treasurer for all client tuition. This includes collecting in a timely manner, making tuition arrangements and notifying clients if payment is overdue. Also, if a client is in special need, taking it before the TLT board to discuss scholarship or tuition reductions.
• Oversee any fundraising events, holiday celebrations or outside programs that may come to speak to the children
• Select and obtain educational and spiritual material and music for TLT to use in the curriculum
• Set up TLT schedule and extracurricular classes within the program
• Help staff with copies, errands or an extra hand if should arise
• In case of staff absence, fulfill position with sub for the day or help take the place of the absent teacher
• Check In/Check for students that attend TLT
• Make sure all doors are unlocked/relocked that are needed for entry/exits.
• Make sure Youth and Children’s Center area is kept clean and orderly for church usage
• Make sure playground is kept clean and equipment in working order
